This week was apparently a Wyoming week. We got a special visit from our "American parents." Mom and Dad (in their 70s) were on their way to Canada by way of two particular states, and so they made time to visit us. They said they would treat us lunch, and we had to think about where we wanted to eat. We decided taking thttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifhem to a local, historic eating establishment that was once featured in Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. They loved it!! The place has been open since 1929, still receives cash only, and features historic photographs of famous people who have been eating there and old pics of the town. The price, of course college-town and student price :) :)
When we were eating, Mom told us that apparently both of them were still trying to figure out where Indonesia was and how it looked like (After knowing me for four years? come on Mom and Dad!). She asked if it was closest to Australia or China because she and Dad had a bet (hohohoho) on which country was closest. Little did she know that D and I already prepared two small gifts for them: Indonesian map in batik (like
this one), and a batik scarf.
Great day of course included a photo in the garden, haha.
Aw... that's a big garden you have ;) good idea on the batik map :)
