Garden

I guess I would never comprehend the magic of gardening. How come you put a seed into the ground and then the seed would grow into a plant that bears something for you to eat? That is amazing.
Gardening has been my time of reflection lately. I talk with my plants and sing to them, as my friend Rae suggested. When one time I was stressed out looking at my garden where there was no rule, no order, and weeds were growing wildly, my plants knew and they became stressed out too. I realized that and since then, I garden with a different spirit: light, joyful, happy spirit. My plants are happy, too!
(I know it might sound crazy to you but it's true)

I've been making friends with my garden neighbors - several Chinese families, the most special ones are grandpa and grandma whose plot is next to mine. I don't speak Chinese and they don't speak English, but most of the time we understand each other. ;) ;) They have been very generous with their comments, suggestions, and harvest, haha. Many times grandma just walks into my garden and start to thin the plants so that they have space to grow. I hope to post pics of them and their plot, and you will be able to see how professional they are with gardening. Through gardening, I learn a lot about plant language and human language, beyond English, bahasa Indonesia, or Mandarin Chinese. What a wonderful summer it has been. And I still expect extreme harvests, like Hillsong once says in their song "so blessed I can't contain it, so much I gotta give it away."
