Virtually Real

Okay, we increasingly live in a virtual world. It's amazing how my parents and I are miles apart but we're still able to talk and "see" each other by using Messenger or Skype. What happens in one country can be seen by people in many parts of the world, almost instantly. Relationships can be created, rebuilt, broken, all virtually.

And seems like things just get more sophisticated, but also weirder.

Also, from a friend:
just read an article about virtual homicide from 2008 where a woman killed her online husband's character because he divorced her without warning. If she was convicted, the woman could have gotten 5 years in prison or a fine of $5,000.

I responded:
would that be a virtual prison and virtual money as well?

And now,
my Facebook wall is filled with virtual pets, virtual gifts, virtual smiles, virtual drinks, virtual food, and many other virtual things... that I don't know how to respond.
